Join the team at Muddy Mountain Flower Farm and work on a year-round family farm. You’ll dive into every part of flower farming — planting, harvesting, arranging, and preparing blooms for our markets and customers. If you love hands-on work, learning new skills, and being part of a close-knit team, this is the role for you.
Flower Field Team Member
Location: Spencer, West Virginia
Position: Full-time Flower Farm Team Member — 30+ hrs/week (typical Tue–Fri with occasional Saturdays)
Wage: $15–$17 / hour
Season: Year round
Overview
We’re a small, rapidly expanding family flower farm wearing many hats — and we need another energetic, reliable person to join the core team. If you love being outside, get excited about gorgeous stems, and aren’t afraid of hard work, you’ll fit right in. This role is hands-on, year round, and perfect for someone who wants to learn floriculture from the ground up while helping run a growing local business.
What you’ll do (day-to-day)
Harvest flowers quickly and at peak quality.
Bunching, conditioning, and prepping blooms for market and orders.
Assemble bouquets and buckets for wholesale & retail customers.
Order fulfillment: organize and pack customer/market orders accurately.
Planting, transplanting, weeding, and general crop care.
Maintain tools, clean work areas, and help with farm infrastructure.
Assist with time-tracking, efficiency benchmarks, and simple record-keeping.
Help on miscellaneous projects — farm life means flexible tasks and learning new skills.

Team player who works hard and keeps chats from slowing the pace.
Positive, punctual, and receptive to feedback.
Detail-oriented — quality matters from field to vase.
Energetic, motivated, and able to take initiative as you learn.
Comfortable adapting when the weather or plan changes.
Physical requirements & practical expectations
Able to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly and perform repetitive motions (bending, squatting, kneeling).
Comfortable working in all weather (dress appropriately; closed-toe shoes required).
Brings water/snacks/lunch and takes care of personal ergonomics to avoid injury.
Must be able to commit and show reliable attendance.
Compensation & perks
$15–$17/hour depending on experience.
30 hrs+/week (consistent schedule Tue–Fri; occasional Saturdays during busy periods).
Free flowers to take home.
Hands-on training in flower production, harvesting, and bouquet design.
Team atmosphere on a friendly family farm with room to grow as we expand.
Potential for wage increases and bonuses with proven consistency.
